„Ride for Justice – Non-violent resistance in Palestine“

Documentary photography / informative texts / audio / video / events

The exhibition „Ride for Justice – Non-violent resistance in Palestine“ presents the 2016 Freedom Ride and the documented daily struggles and non-violent movements for freedom and human rights in the West Bank, occupied Palestine. The focus lies on the stories of the people the group met along the stops of the Freedom Ride, which are presented through photos, accompanying texts, audio and video material and an art installation. The exhibition is accompanied by informative events focusing on different aspects of the situation in Palestine. Descriptions of upcoming and past events can be found in the exhibition program.

The exhibition wants to support the goals of the Freedom Theatre and the Freedom Bus project beyond Palestine’s borders: to raise awareness for the living conditions of Palestinians under the Israeli occupation and for the various strategies of non-violent resistance. It offers an ethnographic approach away from media-influenced pictures. It aims to reach people on an international level and to build alliances beyond occupied Palestine by presenting non-violent, cultural initiatives like the Freedom Bus project.

The exhibition was first presented in the historical arched cellar of Künstlerhaus Göttingen. Please find all news on upcoming exhibition places and dates here.

The exhibition could be realised through funding by the program Kreativität im Studium, carried out by the university of Göttingen and realized through the AKB foundation, as well as by the Begegnung foundation. Specials thanks go to the funders and supporters and to the Künstlerhaus Göttingen and the Kempten Theatre.
